As a young woman, she amassed a collection of jewelry inherited from her mother, aunts and grandmother. As her collection grew, so did her passion for exquisite jewelry.
Born in Harlem, New York and raised in South Orange, New Jersey, Pamela moved to Atlanta and began her professional career. She is a student of human behavior possessing a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology. Pamela’s active involvement in the Atlanta community led her to a twenty-year career in Event Production & Design. After many years of creating noteworthy events for Fortune 500 Companies & large non-profit organizations, her eye for detail, love for design and understanding of human emotion coalesced into Hayling Hoffman Jewels.
Approximately ten years ago, Pamela was persuaded by the young daughters’ of a friend to explore a bead store on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. She became enchanted by a rare strand of blue chalcedony stones. Combining these stones with sterling silver, she designed her first necklace! Before the week was over, the necklace elicited several attractive offers to purchase her creation. However in the end, she rejected them all and owns that necklace to this very day. Soon afterwards, Pamela enrolled in classes and began creating unique necklaces and bracelets for herself. The response was so enthusiastic that she engaged several commissions for custom designs. Since that time, her jewelry has been purchased by customers from across the country and has been exhibited at The High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia.
Today, Pamela Hayling Hoffman plays in her studio to create unique expressions of artistry and joy. She does not think of creating beauty as work.
